College: Enterprise-Rent-A-Car/SHU Student Athlete of the Week (September 17, 2007). Participated in the honors program with a 3.81 GPA and earned a spot on the Dean's List.

High School: Earned a spot on the varsity volleyball team four years, the track and field team four years, and varsity basketball three years. During her junior and senior years, Bavasi was named captain, all-state, all-region, all-city, and the Arizona Coaches Association all-American for volleyball. In 2006, she was named all-region and all-city on her basketball team and all-region on her track and field team. She participated in States for track all four years and helped earn state runner-up on her volleyball and basketball teams. As an Olympic-style weightlifter Bavasi is an Arizona state record holder in snatch, clean, and jerk in three weight classes. She is also a nationally ranked junior weightlifter and placed eighth at the Junior Pan American Championship for team USA in Puerto Rico, in 2005. For three summers, Bavasi trained at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs. She also excelled in her studies earning AIA Scholar-Athlete awards in volleyball, basketball, and track and field. Bavasi graduated in the top one percent of her class with a 4.21 GPA and participated in the National Honor Society for three years. She was also a member of the National Society of High School Scholars for two years and part of "Who's Who" of American high school students in 2006.
