Fairfield, CT - Freshman Chris Ujkic (Mattituck, NY) has been named the Northeast Conference Men's Tennis Player of the Week for the week fo Marhc 18-24. This is the first league award for a Pioneer during the spring season.

Ujkic was victorious on both the singles and doubles sides of Sacred Heart's lone match of the week, a 4-3 team victory over Boston University. After teaming up with fellow freshman Michael Syer to post an 8-2 win at No. 1 doubles, the Pioneer rookie quickly downed Hans Sapra, 6-3, 6-2, at second singles to help SHU edge the Terriers in the team scoring.

The Pioneers are back in action Thursday when they visit Rhode Island. The match is set for a 3:30 pm start.
