Fairfield, CT - Sophomore Jinal Shah (Mombasa, Kenya) won two matches, including the match clincher, and freshman Chris Ujkic (Mattituck, NY) also posted two victories to lead the Sacred Heart men's tennis team to a 4-3 victory over Boston University Monday afternoon at the SHU tennis courts.

The Pioneers got off to a strong start, winning the doubles point two matches to one. Ujkic and freshman Michael Syer (Oakville, ON) won their No. 1 doubles contest 8-2 and Shah teamed up with Cole Conrad (Fairfield, CT) to post an 8-3 victory in the third doubles match.

Frehsman Kirill Kasyanov (Yonkers, NY) won his number one singles match 6-2, 6-4 over the Terriers' Miron Nissim and Ujkic took out Hans Sapra 6-3, 6-2 in the number two singles match. However, SHU lost straight set decisions in the next three singles contests to even the match at three points apiece. Shah sealed the victory for Sacred Heart when he beat Armir Mohmetti 7-6, 6-4 in the final match of the day.

The Pioneers are back in action Thursday afternoon when they visit Rhode Island. The match is scheduled to begin at 3:30 pm.
